Educational Institutions

Built in 1843, the Wynnton Male Academy (now Wynnton School Library) is considered the oldest such school facility in continuous use in the state. This building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. Industrial High School, built in 1906, was the Nation's first vocational school of its kinds and was listed on the register in 1980. Columbus Public Kindergartens, begun in 1905, were the first in the state and among the first in the nation.
